The future is here—are you ready? Be careful what you wish for. I was searching for a ghost, and now I’ve found him. I wanted so badly to save Noah Williams, the one I left behind, that I never fully accepted the possibility that the man I would find wouldn’t be the one I remembered. In a split second, I lost everything. The man I loved. The people who had become my family after the world ended. And my freedom. Now, I’ve woken up in a madman’s idea of utopia, and the one ally I have is a broken, damaged version of the man I knew. To make things worse, I’m the only one who knows the truth about how the world ended. The question is: Can I save the future? This series is not intended for younger/sensitive readers. It contains adult language, violence, and explicit sexual situations. And Unremarkable is free today! Book Two of The Potential Future Chronicles is available now!
Thanks to pro_ebookcovers at fiverr I got my cover for The Potential Future super fast! Here it is! Ebook is coming soon, print copy shortly after that!
And now Part II of "C. J. has no patience!
Book Two of The Potential Future Chronicles, aptly titled The Potential Future, is coming soon. How soon? Very soon. I've been working with the same remarkable (see what I did there) designer from fiverr. She is quite awesome. I sent her the cover specs on Friday and got my mock-ups yesterday. Cover reveal tomorrow. Then, prepare for The Potential Future, because it's coming ... soon! Let it be stated for the record that my husband literally, not figuratively, pushed my finger down on the Publish Your Kindle eBook button, as has been the tradition since I first published For Ever on February 12, 2012. I had wanted to wait until 11/7/17, because the date sounded nice, much like 2/12/12. Then my husband asked, "What are you waiting for?"
Seeing as I have little to no patience, it was probably for the best that I didn't try to wait another three-plus days to publish. The anticipation would have caused me to explode in a ball of anxiety. Wait, I'm still anxious. This didn't work at all. ;-) So ... I think I've accomplished one thing this week as far as MailChimp goes. To the left of this blog post, you will see a brand new newsletter subscription form. It's there, right? It's not just my imagination? ;-)
If I was successful, then you should be able to sign up for my newsletter -- and about a day later, you should receive a welcome e-mail and a copy of The Darkly Dreaming Series! I've spent the past week and a half wrestling with MailChimp, so I make no promises. Sign up for the newsletter and let me know if you get a copy of Darkly Dreaming Forever (The Darkly Dreaming Series as a single 450-page-plus document)! Next to-do on my list: publish Unremarkable! I was tentatively planning to publish on Tuesday, Nov. 7 -- then I realized that's Election Day. Whoops. The date did seem like a lucky number, though. 11/7/17 ... what do you think? I'll be back with news soon! Happy dance! The print and ebook versions of Unremarkable (The Potential Future Chronicles, Book One) are done!
Vellum Press is totally worth it. The program (not to mention the awesome tech support) really makes formatting the interior of a novel very painless. I ran into two issues, which were related to my own ignorance/tech-phobia, and Brad from Vellum Support was able to answer both questions in under 24 hours. On that note, I've also been in the process of trying to get my newsletter together through MailChimp. Uh, yeah. That's not going as smoothly. At every stage, I stop and go, "Huh?" What seems to be easy for most people is head-scratchingly frustrating for this girl. So, that's gonna take some time. What do you do when you're working on a project that's epically frustrating? Personally, I go back to my very first project. As in, the very first book I ever wrote, also known as The Darkly Dreaming Series. I've gone back and re-read or tweaked that story so many times, I've lost count. I started going through it again last night and thought, "I love this story!" It's just the perfect little paranormal romance. It actually competes with For Ever -- and in some ways I love it a little more, simply because it was the very first novel I ever finished. I had the best time the summer I wrote it. My playlist was epic! So last night, I uploaded The Darkly Dreaming Series to Vellum -- and I redesigned the cover. If you haven't checked it out, it's the perfect little Halloween treat! With any luck, the updated content should upload in a few hours. Fingers crossed! I was thinking about publishing Unremarkable today, but I think I need one more weekend of breathing deeply into a paper bag before I'm ready. ;-) |
