For me, paranormal romance was where it all started. The first book I ever finished was Aven's Dream, which started under a different title. That book later was split into The Darkly Dreaming Series -- From a Dream, Love Me Darkly, and Dreaming Ever After -- a series which has a special place in my heart. Overall, I love the mystery behind paranormal romance, and for me a hero with paranormal origins is just that much more ... tempting. After that came The Ever Series, which ended up being published first -- but that's a long story.
Recently, I've branched out into more, ahem, adult and less paranormal territory.
And that's where I've been lately. One book is in final edits and, sad to say, is not going to come out under my name. The other is a spin-off very specifically targeted to fans of College Girl, which is one of my books that definitely falls under the love it or leave it category. Or maybe that pertains to all of them? ;-)
So that's what I've been up to. Furiously writing one book, waiting on my editor for another in hopes of getting it out by the end of the year -- which is rapidly approaching!
Since I've promised not to spam anyone with e-mails (we all get enough e-mail already!), I have a favor to ask. Anyone who would like to know when the College Girl spin-off comes out (because I may discount it prior to release!), please e-mail me at cjvalles4ever (at) gmail (dot) com with the subject College Girl spin-off and your preferred e-mail address. I don't want to accidentally e-mail anyone who is purely a fan of The Ever Series!
My other upcoming book is, let us say, for those like me who have an incredibly twisted sense of humor. It's dark. It's weird. It's my passion project. If anyone is interested (and really good at keeping secrets), send an e-mail to cjvalles4ever (at) gmail (dot) com with the subject Super Secret Project and your preferred e-mail address. Remember, said project is NOT YA, NOT for sensitive audiences, and NOT a linear storyline. Reader beware. You get the point.
On that note, I've had a paranormal romance brewing on the back burner, but it's going to take some time to get back to it. I'm operating on the basis of which story currently causes my fingers to fly over the keyboard and which heroes make my pulse race.
Finally, it seems as though it's been a tumultuous time everywhere you look, and I truly hope everyone is happy, healthy, and safe at this time of year. Well wishes to all! I'll be back. And fans of College Girl -- keep an eye out for teasers. They will be coming shortly!
